A WORD ABOUT MY COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION & BELONGING. I am a white, queer, trans masculine human from a working class background in the American Rust Belt who has settled on and works from the unceded lands of the Nipmuc, Pocumtuc and Nonotuck people (now also known as Western Massachusetts). While some of my identities qualify me as a marginalized person, I acknowledge that others carry significant privilege. I am committed to the ongoing exploration of how my identities, privileges and internalized colonizer mindset contribute to systems of oppression and the suppression of equitable inclusion in society. In my work, I do my best to create a brave and sturdy space in which people of all identities are supported to show up as their whole selves. I always have more to learn and continually strive to deepen my understanding of social location and refine my practice of cultural humility. Repair is a crucial part of this process when intent and impact don’t align.
